‘Mind Over Muscle’ was established to work with individual athletes and teams of all ages, to help develop a growth mind set for optimal performance. The focus is on mastery of controllable situations, by enhancing cognitive self-governance. Using a variety of strategies and techniques to assist in areas such as self-confidence, low self-efficacy, lack of motivation, arousal regulation and stress management, ‘Mind Over Muscle’ provides guidance and solutions to improve mental strength and create a state of mindfulness.
Our founder, Coach Baz, BSc (Dist.), PG Dip (Psych) has many years experience of playing, coaching and administration in sports. He played football at elite level and has a keen interest in all sports, particularly tennis, rugby and golf. He is a graduate of Edinburgh Napier University in (Sports Psychology) completed post-graduate studies at University of St. Andrews (Psychology). He is a member of the BASES, the British Association of Sport & Exercise Sciences. He also holds a COSCA qualification in counseling and psychotherapy.
